Just thought I would post this for all the "nay -sayers" in the post about the .260. If you look at the 2001 sales of dies posted by RCBS you will see that the .260 is alive and well. That doesn't mean that it is (or ever will) sell like the 30-06 or .270. The 6.5s have never been popular in the US, but they have a cult like following. Yet, it made the top 25 in rifle die sales. What that means is that it beat out the .338 Ultra-mag (no surpise there). Yet, most of us wouldn't consider the Weatherby rounds dead, yet die sales for the .260 beat out all but the .300. It also beat out all the big boars (but 45-70) including the venerable .375 H & H. When I seen them quit making .375 brass, I'll start worrying about the .260.

If nothing else the .260 has earned a place with many highpower match shooters. An excellent target cartridge. Don't know why it wouldn't do well for deer either. Regards, Guy

The .260 I alive and well and probably will be for sometime to come. I got mine the 1st yr. Rem. come out with it in the mountain rifle. Simply fell in love with it immediately(course I fall in love at least once a day).My youngest son has it now. He's shot several deer with so far but I'll get it back one of these days when he moves on to bigger and better things
