On January 15, I ordered and paid for a Remington 40XB KS, left-handed bolt, in 6mm Remington Benchrest caliber from Galyans at Fairlakes, VA. They didn't bother to place the order with Remington until I complained on January 31. It was scheduled to be delivered in three months. The rifle was finally completed and shipped from Remington to Galyans distributer on June 6. Today, Galyans informed me that they don't know where it is......I'm #&@*Q(# and have gotten a refund from Galyans. But, I still need a custom rifle to go with the nice scope and reloading supplies I've purchased over the past few months. I'm considering another Ed Brown rifle but would like to check other gunsmiths. Any recommendations? Thanks, Dennis D. Carter [ 06-20-2002, 02:11: Message edited by: Dennis D. Carter ]

Dennis Carter, Your dates don't jive. How can it be completed and shipped before you ordered it? I would still try for a 40-X. I have had much sucess and satisfaction with 40-X's and have had them beat any custom rifle day after day. Not only that but if you decide to sell a "custom" rifle you will only get the value of the action for it. I have not bought a 40-X for a while. I hope they are still as good as I say. Another thought is to go into another dealer with a internet connection and have them look for that lost rifle. It may show up in the inventory somewhere. Try to get a discount also. After years of competition in postition rifle shooting my 40-X's have brought me more pleasure than any product that I have ever purchased.
