The heaviest I've tried in my 1-8 223 AI is the 82 gr. Berger.











100 yds. off the bench at the Pearland shooter's club. Spare parts rifle, 223 AI.

68 BTHP and 80 Amax did fine in my 223AI

Of various.224" projectiles there are probably a million+ 73gr to 80gr projectiles fired thru 1:7"/1:8" twist Bbl'd mouse gun(AR-15) service rifles in NRA OTC & CMP EIC competitions per year in the USA.
