Just left a local Wal-Mart and they had their Remington 700 ADL's on sell for $325, and there was a $30 rebate. I grabbed one in .243 and was wondering what sort of accuracy these guns might be capable of right out of the box. I talked to a buddy that has an ADL and he said his gun had iron sights, while this gun doesn't have iron sights.

Thanks in advance for replys....

That is a very good price.
They can be very accurate.
The trigger probably needs to be lightened.
Bedding it would be what I would try second if it's not up to your standards.
I have several of them and have gotten all of them to shoot very well.

Wally World is dumping their Rem ADLs to make room for the SPSs....

Hang loose and watch them.. they frequently drop the prices to $150.00 on them at times as that is what they evidently pay for them....

With a good/exceptional load, Id expect 1/2 - 3/4" groups, course, after a trigger job, good scope and a steady rest. Wink

Buying almost any new rifle is a little lotto. You might get one that will shoot down to .40 or one that will shoot 4.00 groups. If you have one of the latter and it doesn't respond to some simple fixes like trigger and bedding and scope mounts, sell it and try again. I had a ADL that would go under 1.00 but not by much after the above and some good reloads so I gave it to one of my sons who was happy with it and has shot the crap out of it enoying every round.
