Quote:Hey rugeruser, Check in "Southern" Aussie land. Only kidding. Never crossed my mind those would be local only. Cat-head Biscuit = Just a LARGE biscuit. Made with a bigger cutter. Joked about being as big as a Cat's Head. Chow-Chow = It is a relish consisting of green tomatoes a bit of cabbage, pickles, mild banana peppers, salt, black pepper, and made to be a bit tangy(vinegar) and sweet(sugar). The ingrediants vary slightly from one area to another and may have a bit of mustard or ketchup in it. Great on beans(field peas) of all kinds. Sounds like he has a fine start on a great hunting lifetime. Glad to hear he was able to track down the hare that was giving him problems - nice accomplishment. Best of luck to both of you.

Crazyjjk, yeah, it saddens me that people do that... the issue is between the parents, not the kid(s).. they have/had no say in it at all. It's weird, we were watching 'Gladiator' on DVD tonite, and when the Emporer puts the dagger into the back of Maximus, my boy turned to me and said "that must have been what it was like for you when you found out about mum and Uncle Xxxxx..." Man alive! He is absolutely right... he's already figured it out by himself! Hot Core, thanks for the additional info, I have a good idea of what you're talking about now. Must confess I WAS looking forward to the recipe for making biscuits out of cats' heads!! (To paraphrase Mrs Beaton... 'first, catch your cat...' ) Not sure the boy would appreciate HIS cat going into the mix though...
