Got a flyer in the mail yesterday from Bass Pro, they have these at 399.99 plus 30.00 Rem rebate. Been looking at getting a 223 for a while, thinking this may be the one. I have read that these are the same guns made for interarms, charles daly, etc. I know that cz and sako make better guns, but I cant afford that. Bottom line, are the guns decent enough to expect decent accuracy and not have a lot of problems. Thanks fellas

While I haven't shot one of the Remington M-799's I did handle one at a Gun Show. It to was chambered for the .223 Remington. I thought the action operated a little rough, and the stock somewhat "Boxy". This roughness might have been due to the rifle being new though.

I doubt it.....

I have two of them....one I bought as an interarms barreled action that I dearly love....good shooter

and one I bought as an action only.....piece of dung.....I had to polish and basically smooth it out a lot....but I like the gun today as it's a winner.....it's a 6 X 45

At $369 (including the detestable rebate) I'd get another one.....but buy it only after handling it and operating the working parts to insure everything functions to your liking!

I have two (one in 7.62x39 and the other a custom .221 FB), and have had two others in .223. All of them are/were of the Interarms era. They are a nice little design, but can be on the rough side. The trigger is adjustable, but I was never able to get all of the creep out of it. The two .223's were not as accurate as I felt they should be; the 7.62x39 is horrendous and I am yet to figure out what its problem is as I've tried all shapes, weights, and diameters of bullets and haven't been able to keep it under 4" at 100 yards. The custom .221 FB is a gnat-picker. I guess that the bottom line is that the barrels must be of marginal quality. Still, less than $400 isn't bad compared to other competitors out there, particularly if you want the mini-sized action.
