My 6x45 likes 85gr bullets, but not the 80gr Speers at all. Does anyone have success with them? I would love to have a load, but our powders are different to the American ones.

what twist rate are you using? /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Winston Churchill

My twist rate is 1:10. The rifle shoots 58gr V-Maxes very well too, along with two brands of 85gr (Sierra and NP)

In situations like you describe, I just go with what shoots. When one load doesn't shoot, and several do shoot, I'm happy to have found the good ones. The Speer bullet isn't tuning your barrel. Don

I felt the same way about Speer bullets; never could find one that shot well, until this past summer. Got to looking at the Speer 22 caliber 50 grain TNT bullet, their 52gr Hollow Point and the 52 grain HPBT and thought that they looked very good from an aerodynamic point of view. So I bought a box of each and tried them in a 222 Rem. All shot as well as any other bullet I ever shot in a duce. Later tried them in two 223's and a pair of 222 Magnum rifles with the same results, always three shots into a less than 1/2" group at 100 yards. I immediately changed my view of Speer bullets, and tried the same design TNT bullets in a couple of 257 rifles, and in a 7mm Mauser, 25 caliber and 7mm bullets of course. Same excellent accuracy as with the 22 bullets. I'm a changed person... Don

My favorite bullet in the 6x45 (6mm-.223) and 6 TCU is by far the discontinued Sierra 80 grain Single Shot Pistol bullet. The 80 grain Sierra Blitz Varminter performs similarly. The 80 grain Speer is a slightly stouter bullet and has always shot reasonably well for me in my 1:10 barrels. H335 is my go-to powder in these cartridges, though BenchMark and H322 fare well, particularly with lighter 70-75 grain projectiles. Thanks. Perhaps I must concede that, as convenient as it would have been, my rifle does not like 80gr Speer bullets!

My 6 x 47 likes the 80 gr Speer. It's a short, skinny little wisp of a barrel. Si tantum EGO eram dimidium ut bonus ut EGO memor
