I have a CZ 527 that shoots teeny tiny little groups all day long. All shots touching at 100 yards is the norm using 10.2 grains of Lil Gun over a Hornady Hornet 45 grain bullet. I also have a Charles Daly that is almost as good.

I have a 1730 and it is very accurate. I use Lil Gun, small pistol primers, and Sierra 40 grain BitzKing. Also, A1680 and Hornady 35 grain V match works great also. I use a Lee collet die to size the neck.

The Sierra BKs are a little long and I use up every last bit of magazine length in seating the bullet.

I have owned three 22 hornets. A ruger 77, a browning low wall and my latest, which is my favorite and a keeper, a Cooper model 38 classic in 22 hornet. One of the problems I've had in the past is finding hornets that will shoot consistatly under one inch at 100 yds. This Cooper will, and thats why I still own it.
I have fed it 35 gr. v-max (current favorite), 36 gr. Barnes Varmint grenades, 40 gr v-max and v-max moly, 45 gr. solid base ballistic tips. They all shoot lights out in this rifle.
Two loads
35 gr Hornady V-max, 12.3 gr H-110, Fed 205m primer, 1.735 oal.
40 gr. v-max, 12.3 gr Lil Gun, 205m primer, 1.868

The most accurate Hornet I own is a Walther...sub MOA has never been a problem if I do my part.

Anschutz has a long and excellent reputation, but they will be fairly pricey, as will the excellent Cooper (unfortunately, Cooper does not offer a Hornet repeater to my knowledge).

If you're going to spend that kind of money I would suggest looking around for an as-new or lightly used Kimber 82 (Oregon, not the current production). It will probably cost you somewhat less than either the Anschutz or Cooper, and the one I own is outstandingly accurate.

Another fine little out-of-production gun is a Sako P72/ P75/ M78 (all virtually identical). They are available used for around the same price as a Kimber 82 and all I've come across are excellent shooters, though some triggers may need attention.

Or, you can spend about the same amount of money upgrading a Ruger 77/22H with a new trigger, bushed action, and new barrel in order to make it into a useful performer.

In my opinion, the CZ with its dangerously backwards safety, oversized bolt root which forces excessively high scope mounting, and magazine extending below the stock line simply has too many issues to mess with. That's too bad as most people report good accuracy from them and they do have a marvelous single set trigger.

I too have several CZ 527 rifles. Magazine loading for smaller calibers has to me always been a pain in the butt, so I have the single shot followers that you can get from Calhoon. I never use the safety on my varmint rifles, so I don't have an issue with it. I am a tall fellow with a long neck so higher rings are not an issue for me. If it were to be an issue I would do a bolt swap at Calhoon's. He remakes them with a lower angle.
My 204 and my hornet,19 Calhoon(hornet case),K hornet are all great shooting rifles right out of the box.The single set trigger that comes on all of these rifles is a thing of beauty as well.FS

I have had a annie 1730 heavy barrel for about 8-10 years. Think I paid just under a grand for it, so that tells you something about how long it's been since purchased. I bought it after owning several Rugers, both #1 and 77s. They were poor at best on accuracy.
The annie is easy a
a 3/4"gun, five shots at 100 yards.
I shoot berger 40 HP because they will go through the clip, cases with plastic tip bullets will not fit in the clip, too long. They are accurate if you hand feed the chamber.
I use Lil gun, Win cases, and Fed pistol primers, it's a great gun.

They can be accurate as heck in a quality rifle..

I am aware of a forum member who has one in the Carolina's who have taken thousands of deer with one... preferring a charge of 6 grains of Blue Dot and a 40 grain HP...

He wouldn't be without one... BOOM... horse
