4350 is a good choice. My personal favorite is Alliant RL19.IMR or H4831 are also great.

Roll EyesIt's hard to beat the 4350s but with the lighter bullets 4064 or H380 might be a charm. beerroger

Reloader 19 in the 55-57 grain range with either Federal Match 210's or CCI Mag 250's will probably find the "sweet spot" for your rifle with the 85-90 grain bullets! A load that has worked well for me in various 25-06's is 50.0 grains of VARGET and the 75 grain VMAX!!! But for a powder that is hard to beat in the 25-06, ReLoader 19 will fill the bill!!! I like IMR4350 for the 117 and 120's and also H4831sc for the heavies!! But for the varmint weight bullets, Reloader 19 will be hard to beat!! GHD(pastor at the church of the 25-06!!)

Encore,

I am sure that you will enjoy your testing but I also think that you might end up back with IMR 4350. It has also been the best for me.

Have fun.

Don, Just as I thought 30 years ago that I'd never find a more versatile powder than IMR 3031 for the varmint class guns(I even have acceptable data for the 25-06 using it!!) VARGET showed up!! From 222-6mmRem and 260 and the short fats(SAUMS and WSMS) Varget fills the bill!! And then playing with the RELOADER 19 in the 25-06 showed me that IMR 4350 could be outdone!! Try some!! You may like it!! GHD

H4350 works especially well with Hornady 75gr V-Max.
Great accuracy, towering velocity in 25-06.

Well, with 75 and 85 grain bullets I have had pretty good luck with both IMR 4831 and H 4350.

However, I have simplified my 25-06 loading as follows:

For 75 to 100 grain bullets I use IMR 4831
For bullets heavier than 100 grains I use IMR 7828.

That's it. I had good luck with H 4350, but just wanted to simplify things and not keep so many powders on hand.

I find I can do anything I need done with the 25-06 using IMR 4831 or IMR 7828.

I use Fed 210 primers with the IMR 4831 and Fed 215 primers with the IMR 7828.

Really a fun caliber, the 25-06.

Another vote for IMR4350... I get 3850fps with the Sierra 75gr and easy moa groups. Hard to beat!! And that's out of a NEF handi-rifle cheers

GHD,
Will the RL19 work well with the 75 VMAXS? I am new to reloading and so far have only bought and tried IMR4350 and VMAXS with decent results so far. I should also mention the barrel is 1-12 twist. Thanks

rl 19 should work fine for 75gr bullets. I have used h4831 with 75 grs with good results and it is slower than rl19. Most of the time in a given cartridge the heavier the bullet, the slower the powder and vise versa.

I have had my best results with IMR 3031, capped off by the Hornady 75 gr. V-Max.

The slower burning powders didn't give me the velocity with the light bullet that 3031 gave me in my rifle. The accuracy is good enough for 400 yds on groundhogs. Cool

I use AA4350 for my 75gr in 25:06 and happy with it, although I haven't tried alot of powders for 75gr.

Hi GD,

Thanks for the suggestion. I will have to try some Reloader-19 (never used it before) and see how it works with 90 grain Sierra boattails.
