Here is my new toy. Have just completed the stock. It was originally in .308 Win but is now rebarreled with a Border SS in 6mm Norma BR. The scope is a B&L Elite 4000 6-24x40 mounted with Sako Optilock Extra Low mounts. Haven`t shot it yet but I will do a break-in when I get the time to go to the range. Hopefully it will perform well.

4.99kg would have been perfect for the International "Jagdmatch" (not sure what this is called in English?) rules - a competition often shot in Sweden and Finland, I believe. If you are desperate to make that weight, maybe you could lighten the stock a tad (drill out behind the recoil pad, deepen cut-out in foreend). On the other hand, if you are just shooting the rifle for yourself, who cares? I like rifles just around 5kg for accuracy shooting, so the weight of your rifle would be almost ideal for me. - mike

You have figured it out just right, Mike! Yes, I mounted the swivels on the side so that I can use a Biathlon-type sling. Will also use the rifle for roe , fox, crows, paper etc etc..... . My intention is to try the Barnes TSX for roe/fox hunting.

Peter, you still have not told us what you intend to use the rifle for. I have been wondering since I saw those side mounted sling swivels of yours. You must expect to carry the rifle slinged (on your back?) for extended periods of time. Is this somehow connected with skiing into the backcountry (after capercaille?) in winter? - mike

Well...it feeds but not so good, so practically it is a single shot. Thats one of the downparts of 6mmNormaBR. Maybee a gunsmith can make it feed better, but I don`t think it will ever feed like your 243. I can live with the bad feeding as long as it shoots one hole groups /Peter
