Ordered a new rifle the other day. I purchased my wife her first hunting rifle two years ago and it was a Tikka T3. Bought it at the urging of my local gun store owner. He said for the price, you can't beat the out of box accuracy. Boy was he right. My wife's 7mm 08 will shoot .400 inch groups at 100 and 1.375 inch groups at 200. That's using R15 and Barnes 120 gr TTSX bullets. Was a bit jealous of her rifle's accuracy so I broke down and got me one too. Just curious if any others on this board have the same rifle and caliber and what are your impressions of it. Noticed an older post with an individual who purchased his in the Rem .260. We both hunt whitetails only and our hunting has been limited to Mississippi where we live.

I have a T3 in 25-06 and it will shoot several different handloads into sub 1" groups at 100yds. I haven't done anything to it. I haven't even adjusted the trigger pull yet.

Rush I have one of the older Tikka model 65's in 25-06. Like most Tikka's it will group under an inch @ 100 yds. The 115 gr Nosler BT shoot very well in this rifle but open up a little too quick on deer sized game for my liking. I finally got my hands on a few hundred 100 gr TTSX bullets. They should hold together and penetrate better than the ballistic tips.

I tried the 100gr TSX and the 100gr TTSX and mine liked the TSX better than the TTSX. Both bullets would shoot 1" or less groups at 100yds.

Same rifle but different caliber. I too got sold on the Tikka's after buying one for my son. His is an 06 and very accurate. I have a .308 & 243 with no complaints. These are also the first fiberglass and stainless guns I've ever bought.

The price too is hard to beat. $599 is a very good value for this good of a rifle in my opinion.

I have a T3 with the heavy barrel in 22-250 using RL-15 & Speer TNT. 5/8" 5 shot groups are typical. No issues so far.

Try Nosler Accubond 110gr. and IMR 4350. I think you will like what you see.

I picked up the same gun 5 or so years ago. It has seen action across several states, conditions and varied terrain.
This is my take...
Pro's: accurate out of the box, pleasure to shoot, comfortable to carry, excellent trigger, smooth bolt, easy to reload for, and I no longer debate which rifle to grab for Mule Deer and smaller sized animals.
Con's: I now have several other rifles that see little to no action.

You're also starting to see high quality after market stocks become readily available. The only consistent criticism that I've heard is of the stock being somewhat flimsy.

I have a T3 light in .270 and now a Hunter in 7-08, both lefties. The .270 is phenomenal with 130 and 150 NBT, both using I4350 and H4831sc. Consistent .5 to 1 MOA. I just shot the 7-08 with some 120NBT that I loaded with TAC for an Xbolt that I traded for the Tikka. Three shots at 100yd and 3 shots at 200yds printed almost exactly 0.5 MOA.

I asked my Gunsmith about them before I bought the first one. His comment was that they must be doing something right as he never sees them in his shop. Said he only gets guns with problems, and never sees a Tikka.

I have the T3 Lite Stainless in 6.5x55 Swede and it too will do 3 shot in 1" at 100. Great rifle, light, handy, I call it my "old man's" walking rifle.
