So, out of the folks who have shot them, what is the general consensus on the Dogtown bullets Midway sells? They are made by Nosler, and I have always liked Nosler bullets. I was looking at the 50 grain .224's for a cheap practice bullet for my .223. They are about as cheap as anything out there, around $11/hundred if you get them in bulk.

What is the consensus?

I use them in the 223 and the 22-250.
I tried them in my 22-250AI but the fast twist ripped them suckers apart. It likes the Nosler BT but eats them up.They are hell on varmints also.

I get true 1/2 moa accuracy out of a DPMS heavy barreled AR15 using Dogtown's. I can't complain.

For the same price range, I prefer the Varmint Nightmare Extremes which are also Nosler made.

they have proven more accurate than Dogtown, which makes me think that, the Nightmare Extreme's lacking in a QC Standard become Midway Dogtown bullets..

only reason I can come up with that bullets made by the same folks, sold under different company private labels, very in accuracy out of the same rifles..

they are still more than accurate enough for prairie dogs at 250 yds or less...

if you are shooting the smaller sage rats I'd go with the Mid South Varmint Nightmare Extreme Version...plus they are a little cheaper, not much, but cheaper..

Thanks for the replies guys. Midway had them on sale, and I was needing to stock up on some "practice" bullets. I use them in my CZ 527 for practicing shooting positions, so as long as they will shoot MOA or so it will be fine. Sounds like just what I was looking for.

I am finally at the end of my stash of Rem 55 PSP that I bought at an estate sale for $20/500. I bought them for teaching my youngest son to shoot, but they actually shot suprisingly well for me.
