Finally!!! Sent the scope to BSA for repair and shipping on their nickle. Their reply was as exspected. Even though the scope was defective out of the box a $10.00 charge and cost for one way shipping was mine with no gaurantee that when I got the scope back it would be in working order. As far as i'm concerned they can use that scope for a dildoo. roger I most hardily recommend BSA scopes to you all! NOT roger

so that should explain where they thought up their brand name from...

I personally have had Descent luck with Simmons for inexpensive Optics . Seriously Roger !!.

Simmons Aetec Model 2101 2.8-10X44WA 44Mag Model M1048 6.5-20X44 and

Prairie Master Model 8000965 A/O T/T 6-24X50 .

I mounted them on almost every rifle I own and that's a Butt Load !. .222 - .375H&H

I even borrowed a friends .416 to see if I could break it . I didn't do anything other than hurt

my shoulder . As I did when I mounted it on my .338 Lapua mag and ran 52 rounds through it !!.

Now I'm not going to BS anybody the Optics aren't Zeiss or Leupold or Nikon which are what I use

for serious stuff . Simmons are DECENT OPTICS and for the Money WHAT BEATS THEM ! ??.

Out of the less expensive optic brand scopes I say they HOLD THEIR OWN !.

So, you change scopes when you get serious?

While answering thi I went and checked all the defective scopes I have. Amoung these are Bushnell, Weaver, BSA, Barska ,Tasco, Truglo and some off the wall old timers. Now except for the BSA and Barska they all had field use. roger

Punching paper isn't a serious situation the paper has never shot back or clawed me !.

So YES when I'm serious I use top quality optics as my very life depends on it !.

I generally don't switch scopes or bases rings Etc. unless I'm developing loads for a particular Rifle .

After which I'll put the proper optic set up back on a Rifle .

Example my .375 doesn't wear a 6-24X50 in Africa as it's near useless . It does allow me to

see 100 meter impacts while developing loads and more to the point Aligning my Target with precision .

When all is well 1.5-6X42 Nikon goes back on it and re shot several times to insure all is still well !.

When hunting optimum clarity maximum available Light and repeatability are my Priority in

a scope .

However a 6-24X50 works just dandy on a Varmint rig when their 200-400 Yd. away and small .

For Coyote sized critters a 2.5-8 or 10 X 44-50mm works well for 350 yd or less for me any way .

Anything closer than a 100 meters my pistol is usually in play several Deer have fallen victim

too that .44 Mag . Again depending on cover and shot angle presented .

Yes I do own and use a spotting scope most of the time just in case you were wondering about that also !.

i have had excellent luck with sightron optics, mid priced and very good optics and over the counter if anything goes wrong. i have 3 in the 6x42 and one 6-24x44 on my varmint rig. i really like them, check them out

My wife bought me a bsa scope awhile back.
Only had it mounted long enough to find out the adjustments didnt work.

I never have any luck with cheap scopes. My last craptastic 4x32mm on my .303 couldn't hold a zero since the first shot. My Dad, on the other hand, has some rock-solid shooters with Tasco, Optex, and Simmons scopes.

I'm not really surprised though, such is my luck with outright cheap things. Inexpensive, on the other hand, gives me much better results!

The old saying: "You get what you pay for." seems to hold pretty true for BSA optics. I bought a rifle with a BSA scope with the Bullet Drop Compensator and did not get the instructions or the proper allen wrench to adjust the elevation knob...I called BSA customer service and told them; they emailed the instruction and in three days I had a wrench and three allen screws for the elevation turret all for free. I think that their customer service is great...The optics do, in fact, leave a little bit to be desired.

I had a BSA "Sweet 17" for about 6 days.
"Shit canned" it in another 2 days!!!
An eight day piece of crap.
Yes, you get what you pay for. I just look a little closer to make sure what I purchase, isn't made in CHINA.....

Got a letter from BSA in Florida to give them a call about the scope I sent them and for which I refused to pay any charges. They are sending the repaired scope back at no charge through the US Mail. If I wanted them to use UPS it would cost me $10.00. Will that get here as a useable scope? Only the Shadow knows. roger

The scope arrived today and it works nicely. Hasn't felt any recoil of course but it will shortly. I am pleasantly surprised at what a little persistance and pressure will do! roger
