I know it has it's own forum. But alos looking for other's experience reloading the little round. It IS picky. And many have worked up MAX loads, I am looking for practice, accurate ones. That won't destroy the brass or the pistol.
I don't give a rat about a pistol, but the concept of a 5.7 rifle has intrigued me ever since the round was introduced. I wasn't aware that Savage was offering this chambering. Which of their rifles is it built on?

I have heard it is/was available on the M25 action, what Savage uses for the .22 Hornet, etc. I can't find it on the Savage site. The M25 Walking Varminter is a funky action design if you ask me.

It's cheaper to just buy a 22 Mag instead of messing with this cluster of a round. If you are using it for what it was intended for (defeating body armor) and are using the bullets that they won't sell to the general public then it's a neat little round. If you're not all you're doing is spending a lot of money on a gun that a 22 Mag would do.

5.7x28 is so close to Hornet capacity, I can't imagine much difference.
As far as comparing it to a 22mag........The 5.7x28 exhibits similar velocity when fired from a pistol length barrel as does the 22mag fired from a rifle length barrel. Fired from a 20-23in barrel it will drown 22mag velocities.

Savage has dropped the 5.7X28 project. I understand accuracy minimums were not met with the M25 action.

If you take a serious look at the PS90, you will see that it breaks down into two parts with one push of a button. Four magazines and the gun take up less than half the space of most daypacks. Makes a great low profile bug out gun, and despite it's anemic performance from a pistol, it matches 22 Hornet performance from a 16" barrel.
I have one inbound and will post photos of it and the survival pack when it's all set up in a few weeks. If I already had an M-1 Carbine, I would just go with that, but I don't and I am into this one very reasonably.
I have an AR57 upper, and it is the best coon gun I've ever used. (these are coon that are called out of the den tree!) It's very accurate and light weight. Don't need to shoot a coon twice like with the 22mag.
