Six bits, I don't have any personal experience w/ the 17 Rem, but will provide you comments from some handloading manuals. Hodgdon #26: "For top accuracy at max velocities, IMR 4320 will make the 17 Rem sing a pretty song. Other good chices are H380 and H4895." Hornady 5th Ed.: "In our testing we achieved the best performance with our 25 gr HP w/ Win 760, VIHT N-133, and N-140." Might also put the question to the Sierra Tech Line at www.sierrabullets.com. So far, I have mainly used Varget and got 1/2" results with 24.0 gr., Rem 7-1/2 and Berger 25 Moly. Velocity was 3910 SD 28. I also recently began using IMR-4320. I have only tested 3 loads and thus far, accuracy and SD have been very impressive. 4320 seems to meter much better than Varget also. I just got some Starke 25 gr. pills but have not had time to tinker with them yet.

I use Re-7......Rem 7 1/2 primers and reformed Lapua .223 brass. The brass is a pain in the ASS but it is worth the effort. 19.0 grs. of RE-7 works in my rifle which is a trued 700 and a 26" Shilen.

Thamks guys Was going to try Reloader powder soon. Made a drop tube from light brass tubing from a hobby shop, flaired the end to fit the neck, then ran it into a 22 to 45 funnel .real light flair on that end so it fit well.Super glue just to hold it place ,then fill the tube with JB weld.Solved the slow powder flow .just dump the powder in and no problem. Loaded up 50 rounds of 25 gr hp Calhoon bullets today, with a little more Varget.still .oo8 below max. Have a Comp RCBS seater,Whish they made the sleaves and seater plug for 17 cal.Loading those little bullets from the top would be so easy. Thanks again for the info.
