This inc. Winchester Supreme Ballistic Silvertips. I have had great success in 6BR (Dakota Predator 10 twist - shot 1/2 - 5/8" at 200 yds) on deer and heard many others, it's accurate and opens up well, not a bad thing, yet penetrates. Just curious if anyone recovered any as I read a review on Midway where a guy found 3, 74, 87, and 90 gr, not bad. Also heard in past kills over 500 yds. I like and have used many other bullets. The 95 BT and Barnes 80/85 and SSII 90 are my top 3. That said, want to hear reports on this 95BT if you want to share your success. Thanks.

This isn't about that one, but it's about one you mentioned. The 80 grain Barnes TTSX is absolutely incredible on deer. It hits them as hard as a 7mm or 30 caliber. I have taken four with it in the past two years, and am extremely impressed. 3 were bang-flop (shoulder shots, but still impressive)

I have wanted to try that one, but noticed the BC a good bit less than the 85 TSX and wondered. Never heard anything but rave reviews. That said, I have a PLETHORA of the 95s and just curious as to others experiences. Bang flops seem to be the norm w/Barnes, though many claim VERY short if not DRTs w/95s. Used others myself, but there seems to be a few select bullets w/a STELLAR record on game in 6mm bore. Thanks Ken.

My experiences include using them at 2700 fps MV or less.. like all ballistic tips, they are a different animal when launched at 2700 fps, and having lower impact velocities, they penetrate MUCH deeper. any of my successes have been under 250 yds... once again, my loads are a sedate 30 grains of RL 7, out of a 243.. MV is about 2650 in a 22 inch barrel and right at 2700 fps out of a 26 inch barrel. My favorite 243 for hunting is a Model 7- Varmint I picked up, with very low mileage on it. 26 inch heavy barrel, but it carries real well. Has a 4 x 16 Weaver on top.. The barrel is a tack driver, but it had 3 previous owners who complained that it wouldn't hit squat.. so they traded it off... and I ended up with it cheap. the screws for mounting a scope, were screwed up at the factory. they are drilled crooked, so with about any scope, the point of impact is still a foot off to the right, with any scopes adjustments spun as far right as it will go. sent it back to the factory, and they did nothing...except sent me a target showing that it would put three shots into one small hole at 100 yds... but I found out they just have a wall full of targets, mount the rifle, shoot it 3 times and then wherever the bullets hit, they just took the target off the wall and sent it to the customer. needless to say I wasn't overly impressed with that, after they had the rifle for 3 months.. so I just took off the Weaver bases on it, mounted a Leupold base with windage adjustments on it, that solved the problem instantly. that is one of my favorite rifles.

I use the 95 gr. BT's on a couple of whitetail does with perfect satisfaction. Both bullets exited, did a lot of damage and dropped both does. They were hid just behind the shoulder a bit under the shoulder blade, missing the spine but coming very close.

That is the bullet I load for my dad and he has shot numerous deer with it. All one shot kills out to 200 yards. The most accurate load is pushing the 95 grainer just over 3000 fps out of a 22" barrel and makes a ragged one hole group at 100 yards. Captain Finlander

95 gr BT's & SST's both work well and are accurate in my 1 in10 twist winchesters on whitetails. My reload friends are having great results with berger 90 gr vlds as well.

Thanks all - John, ashame Rem wouldn't do you right... Nice Mulie there w/WSSM - neat round. Capt. Fin - My BR was pushing around 2900 IIRC, don't have the notes in front of me, but as you they shot like a laser. Looks like you everyone has had good results - good to know considering I have a lot of them to burn. Thanks guys.
