over the weekend the kewpie the gun fairy struck again. I just needed a new one. Had a colt ar that i just could get to shoot worth a chit, so off down the road we went. Wanted to try the remmy. I know its just a bushmaster, but i needed a camo ar. well ok - another camo one. In any case a quick deal was maade and kewpie pulled his arrow out of my backside and i went back home. Mounted an old leupold 3-9 i had laying around and took off for the range. The rifle is a lightweight one with a fluted barrel. Trigger was really quite good for a stock ar. It was a windy day with gusts over 25 and constant winds 15-20. Not a good day for shooting groups, but after being cooped up winter any warm way is good. I shot 50 gr sierras, 55 gr nosler bt's and sierra bts, then sierra 60's. The 55 and 60 grain loads all hit within an inch of the same impact, with the 50's going about 3" to the left. At the 100 i was shooting with the wind directly on my back. This piece really liked the 60 gr sierras. a 1" - 10 shot group. The 55's weren't quite as good and the 50's went into about 2". Then i moved over to the 200. now the wind was at my left side. To say the least the groups expanded abit, like maybe 6" worth or more. This thing shows promise, especially with the 60 gr sierras. But that isn't unusual for todays ar's, and i've found that almost all like that 60-63 gr sierra bullet. Anyway its sighted in now, and the days are getting a bit warmer, Here kitty here kitty
