.17 Rem Best Loads
I have a SAKO AI Hunter in .17 Rem awaiting pickup in April. Any suggestions for good accurate bullet/powder/primer combinations? Thanks.

I've had a .17 Remington for a little over five years now. So far in my opinion the best performance has been with Berger 25 Gr. bullets. 30 Gr Bergers and Starke's are a close second. The primers I use are Remington 7.5's. Powders I've had several that have worked well but I'm partial to IMR 4320 and 3031.

Best load in my CZ in 24.5g's of varget under a 25g Berger bullet. This is max load in my rifle start lower and work up. Outstanding accuracy and flat, flat shooting. Good luck!

Thanks for the load suggestions. Any recommendations for a 17 caliber cleaning rod?

Buy a Dewey, The warrantee after the sale is what will keep you coming back.

I called Dewey about a problem with one of their rods, long story short, they sent me a new handle assembly for free. Try it and you'll like it!

Proshot 17 rods are stiffer than Dewy rods. I found my Dewy way too flimsy and it bent easily.
