I would like buy a 527 Kelvar in 223 to replace my 788Rem. I hunt coyotes with hounds and do a lot of walking. Before I part with my 788 I would like to hear from some one who has one, Please be honest good or bad how you feel about the rifle. Thanks Trapper

If it's the CZ-527 you're inquiring about then I have one but in .22 hornet and am contemplating replacing my savage in .223 with a CZ. It is very accurate and reglarly out shoots the heavy barrel savage. I want to go for a field handy rifle and I just love the single set trigger. My hornet seem to like just about any load I try. I recently got one of the 452's in .22 magnum and on the first day at the range for sighting in I had no trouble keeping 15 shots in a 1" circle @ 50 yards. It still needs some trigger adjustments and a warmer day to try it at the 100 but I've been impressed with the shooting performance of CZ rifles. The only real problem I've had is with the factory rings. Metal was too soft and didn't align properly and required replacement. Get Millet or Warne rings instead. I think the magazine arragement is on the ugly side but is functional.
