I've heard of others with this problem, I put a strip of paper between the barrel and stock, it stops about 3 inches forward from the reciever. What should I do about this? I'm sure tikka would fix it, but does anyone know the turn around time from them? Anyone have an idea how much a local gunsmith might charge to adjust the stock?

Nevermind, just found in the knowledge base from tikka that this is normal on the synth stocks. They only full length free float on the wood stocks, they shoot better with slight pressure with the synth stocks.

That's good to know. where did you find that information?

My Winchester Super Shadow also has a pressure point near the front of the forearm of the synthetic stock. I shot it with the pressure point and was amazed at how accurate it was. Needless to say it remains as it came out of the box, not quite as accurate as it used to be, but after many hundreds of .270 WSM rounds down the tube, that is no surprise. I heartily suggest shooting it before you break out the dremel tool. You, too might be surprised at the Tikka out of the box accuracy. ( I would rather have half inch groups at 100 yards than inch and a half groups with a full floated barrel). Some rifles shoot better floated, some shoot better with a little forend contact. Bullets are pretty worthless. All they do is hang around waiting to get loaded.

How does it shoot ? It's just like a Hay Baler. If it works, don't mess with it.
