Does anyone know of a web site that has some data or information on the .220 Swift AI? Or, can anyone share some data or experiences with this cartridge? I'm going to have one built using bullets in the 55-70 gr. range(hopefully) and I need any and all of the information I can get. Things like barrel life, cleaning frequency, fireforming methods, powder, bullets, brass, gunsmiths, barrel length, twist, dies, etc etc... Just anything. Thanks very much in advance. John.

Don't forget the .220 Weatherby Rocket Roy's best cartridge. Or the orginal improved Swift the .220 K Swift by Lysle Kilbourn the smith who invented the improved cartridge.

I would start with the bullet. Smaller cases can shoot 40 gr bullets fast so select a bullet with some size to it. Go to www.bergerbullets.com and pick a bullet there that will be the primary bullet. The suggested twists are there. Also a Sierra bullet would be a good one.

Get Ackley's book(s) and the book "Wildcat Cartridges" from Wolfe Publishing.

Thats a nice case. Much stronger than the .22-250's.
