I hope by Xmas 2016 - people hoarding 22 ammo have got their fill over last 4 years. Still no 22 ammo at Walmart store in central Florida.

Mike - wish you would have said something sooner - I would have filled your stocking with CCI mini mags. If you need me to send you some, let me know. We seem to have plenty here in Virignia

I have my stock just stopped shooting 22 lr cause I can never buy it. I will not pay gun show prices of 10 cents a round for 22LR when I can buy 7.62x51 for 50 cents a round. I will buy some in TX if I drive to DSC. 9mm at sub 20 cents a round.

Its absolutely stupid to stockpile 22 lr ammo. Its central florida people buy guns and ammo like accessories - no one shoots anything. Largest stockpile of unused stuff.

What are people doing stock pilling 22 ammo.

When does 22 ammo start to lose it usefulness - odes it have same shelf life as center fire.

I used to love shooting my cz 452.

I'm not sure. I'd like to think they're teaching their sons and daughters to shoot...by starting them out with a .22...but I'm not convinced. .223/5.56 ammo I get....but .22?
Dunno.

I guess I should be thankful I can buy 3 50rd boxes in Tyler, Tx occasionally.

Like several in this thread, why do people who don't shoot horde ammunition? One guy I worked with used 50% of his take home pay to buy 44 Magnum handgun ammunition. What in the world does a guy in his mid-40's need with over 20K rounds of 44 Magnum? Gold or Silver coins I could understand but, 44 Magnum ammunition?

Heck, I still have some 22lr rounds I was shooting 20 years ago. My boys arrived and I've taught them on those same rounds. Just bought 2,000 more rounds because they really like putting holes in the new shoot and see targets with various characters, zombies, coyotes, etc.

I ended up buying the new stuff on-line out of North or South Carolina, I think!
