Can anyone clarify if the Winchester Supreme ballistic Silvertip ammunition has a type of Moly coating? Does a barrel have to be treated as if using moly coated bullets?

Thank you.....

Titan, the Ballistic Silvertip bullets have a black coating on them, but it is NOT moly.

I believe Winchester calls it Lubalox. It is black like moly but is a different compound. It does not seem to rub off like moly and I do not believe it leads to fouling in the barrel like moly is prone to do.

Those bullets are nothing more than Nosler Ballistic Tips with gray tips and the coating applied. Nosler makes the bullets in their plant in Bend, Oregon and then sends them elsewhere for the coating to be applied. I have bought several batches of "seconds" at the plant that never got to the coating stage.
