Hi,
can some of the members give me information about the caliber 6.5 ACK. i notice that shooters using this caliber for bench shooting @ 500 and 1000 yards. What is the difference with the 5.5.55 or the 6.5 57 ? Are they a custom made rifles or you can get this rifles from the shelf?

Cheers

Welcome to the forum, Art.

The 6.5 Ackley is an improved 6.5-06, meaning that the body taper has been reduced and the shoulder angle increased to provide slightly more powder capacity. You would have to have a 6.5 Ackley custom-built as I'm unaware of anyone offering this chambering in a factory rifle.

A 6.5x57 is a 6.5 built on a 57mm Mauser (7x57, 8x57) case. It has somewhat less capacity than the 6.5-06 or Ackley, being very similar to the 6.5x55 ("Swede").
