cheersThe trigger on the Stevens if honed by hand ( 1/2 hr. ) would be just fine for hunting.

It is in fact the Savage trigger prior to the accutrigger. There are a couple of replacement triggers designed to be used on the Savage. The Savage owners web sites will give you a lot of info. BOOMroger

Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! Some never pay and some pay and never reap the reward. Wisdom comes with age! Sometimes age comes alone..

My Stevens trigger was a typical out of the box factory trigger similar to my Rmeingtons etc... It was about 5 lbs and was crsip but had some creep.

I adjusted the weight down to 3 pounds and honed the seer in about an hour. It shoots 1/2" groups with a crisp pull and no creep.
