Had a rifle made op in 25/300WSM. Have not loaded for it. Any suggestions? I'm thinking I would like to shoot 115-120 gr bullets?..

Simply start with upper level loads for the .25-06 using the slowest of the powders listed (7828, RL-22, RL-25, etc.) The WSM case is not all that much more capacious than the '06 case, so those loads will be both safe and generate enough pressure and velocity to serve as a basis from which to develop optimum loads in your wildcat.

That doesn't sound right? The base case is 300 WSM, then necked down to 25 caliber. Relative case capacity of 257 Weatherby Magnum.

I read an article on a rifle a guy made up based on your post. He called it the 25 Pronghorn and there was an article in Rifle Shooter Magazine a couple or 3 years ago about it.
I saved the article but am not sure if I still have it. I'll look. In the meantime, you might try a search for 25 pronghorn.

Actually the .300 WSM case capacity is between the .25-06 and the .257 Weatherby. Depending on who does the measuring, it is usually closer to the Weatherby but definately smaller. It can't equal the Weatherby velocity but it's close enough that you'd probably never notice.

lb404, I built one when the case first came out.

Here are some load ranges for 115/117 gr bullets. fed 215 primers.
This was in a pac nor polygonal rifled barrel which will not develop pressure quite as quick. Start slow and work up. Be warned barrel life is low, don't burn to much of it developing loads. Find a reasonable load and have fun.
The bull in my avatar was shot with it and 115 partitions, one shot at 275 yds. Died without taking a step.

IMR 7828 61-63 gr.
RL25 60-64 gr
RS Magnum 63-68 gr
Retumbo 61-63 gr
