All these "little fellers" are "more fun than eatin beans!!!! Big Grin I've put together or owned somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 17HMR's for myself and others and one thing is constant.......absolutely astounding accurracy from a rimfire at EXTENDED rimfire range!!! Do I recommend shooting a bull in the ass with a BB-gun and expect him to fall...NO!!!! But the accurracy of the 17HMR coupled with GOOD GLASS makes head and neck shots .....quick dispatch of varmints....DOABLE with a high degree of repeatability!!!
Now to the 204!!! As a long time, bonafide 22-250 deciple, the 204 will open your eyes!! Somebody mentioned 20 grain VMaxs from a 17Remington at 4300fps.....try 32 VMAxs at 4409fps!!! No need to push them that fast though! 4100fps and the 32's works pretty darn good!!! I pushed some to 4565 but case life kinda disappears!!!! Accurrate 2230 is the only powder I've found that wll equal or exceed the factory stated 4225fps in the .204!!! I like the little fellers!!! GHD

That just sounds like a great load. Shoot a little 17 Rem myself I'd like to try it. But I'd have to know where it's documented. Share it with us.

Two - three if you count a Feinwerkebau 300-S for itsy-bitsy close-up pests. The two real guns are a Kimber .17 K-Hornet, and a M700 in .17 Rem.

That's plenty of the little tiny fellers for me. From there on I like at least .224 and up.

My country gal's just a moonshiner's daughter, but I love her still.

I picked up a Cooper in .17 HMR used from a guy in my gun club as a substitute for a .22 range gun. I love the flat shooting, low cost and zero recoil. Then I bought a .22 Kimber 82 from the CMP anyway. rotflmo

I had a .17/223 on a SAKO L461 until I recently re-barreled it to .204 Ruger.
