Since I am not up to speed on all the different 700 barrels and stocks I have a question I hope someone here can shed some light on. I have a 700 Classic 250 Savage with the 24" barrel and I want to change the stock. I have found a stock from a 700 Varmint rifle that I am interested in. Does anyone know if the barrels are one in the same or if the varmint barrel contour is larger and would pose a major or a minor fit issue? Or could someone point me in the right direction to find the answer?

The barrel will be EXTREMELY freefloated. I've seen this done before, It looks different but not bad.
