Seafires quest using Blue Dot has opened a new ave. of experimentation to me.There is only a search for where ever it leads and the information it yields.I may be reinventing the wheel; I don't know. Anyway, here's the begining. Note Bene: all these loads used 22.3 grs. Herc 2400 & Win Mag. primers. at 50 yds.Mod. 77 Ruger .243 stainless varmint 1. 58 gr. V Max Hornady,fc 308 cases,2.673 OAL-----mild, sooty, 3038-3095fps.3 shot 3/8 group. 2. 75gr. HP Sierra,W.W. cases 2.620OAL------mild, sooty, 2733-2774fps. 9 shot group-1" top to bottom 1/2" wide. 3. 80gr. Balistics Tip Nosler,RP cases,2.670 OAL,---- sooty, 2710-2728fps 3shot 1/2" group. 4. 80gr. Sierra BT, Win cases,2.690"OAL, sooty,-----2723-2750 fps. 9 shot 1/4" group FANTASTIC. 5. 80gr. sierra psp. FC .308 cases, 2.630"OAL, sooty-------2734-2799fps.3shot 3/8" group.very nice. 6. 80gr. pspw/c ? bulk win superX cases, crimped,2691-2734fps.9shot 1" group.so-so. The 80 gr. bullets caused SLIGHT flattening of the primers. Recoil and noise level were low. Almost 40 rounds of super dirty loads were put through the rifle in a 1 hour period. The rifle was hot. Than the 5th group was shot. The rifle had not cooled down and was not cleaned. The inside of that barrel must have been as dirty as it can get yet look at the really tight 3 shot group. The 4th group bares witness as well. You got to wonder at what level of dirty is the repeatability affected. I'm putting this in small bore because it doesn't seem to be getting any traffic. Is it a small bore seasonal doldrom or are all of you building .375 H&Hs ? roger

bartsche.. Not quite 2400...but one of my favourite reduced loads is with 10gr Unique and Sierra 70gr HPBT for 0.5" at 100yd. They shoot 4" low of zero for factory 100gr. I have yet to chronograph them. Blue Dot loads are now ready to take to the range, with hopefully similar performance. Regards.... ....Titan
