Year in and year out, for both Pronghorn and Coues deer, my Remington action .270 with a Douglas barrel. Built by P.L. Holehan of Tucson for me about 20 years ago. When I do my part it has never failed me. And for the past five or more years I have been using Hornady light mag ammo with no complaints.

Well, alright. My son's favorite is a 257 AI, right along side the 25-06.

I blundered into a great little Husky in 7X57 Akl that cuts a ragged hole several years ago. My pawn shop owner buddy sold it to me for $200.00 out the door, inc. sales tax and Brady. It had a brand new leupold VariX II 3X9 in Buehler mounts.

I've used this rifle for my last three speed-goats.
