Just took delivery of a M70 .223 WSSM that I had on layaway. The only place I have to shoot is full of cows right now, so I have to what a month or two before I get to shoot it. The manufacture date was in 2003, so it was a hold over. Does anyone have this model/caliber of 2003 vintage? Have you had any problems? My son bought the Shadow in 223wssm in Nov 2004, and, unfortunatly, it turned out to be the worst shooting rifle I had ever encountered. We found one load, and only one load, that would shoot under 10". A trip back to Win did not change anything. He traded it for a Browning in 223wssm and it shoots very well with most everything we've tried. I wish you the best of luck with it.

I have a Black Shadow that I have shot for 250 rnds and it is great. No problems at all. I am just going to start reloading, have used factory loads. This is the composite stocked blued rifle with a scope package. If I can aim it it will always hit it.
