The 25-06 is extremely versatile. If I was ever compelled to go to a two rifle battery it would probably be my choice on the bottom end.

For the animals I hunt mostly in North America, I agree with your choice. For Antelope & Deer sized game, I shoot a 25-06 with 115 gr. rounds. For anything bigger, like Elk, Moose & Bear size, I shoot a 35 Whelen with 250 or 280 gr. bullets. Works great for me.
