I am getting a CZ 527 Varmint in .223 with a 1-12 twist barrel.
I know that there are pros and cons on break in procedures but I want to know if I can use cheap ammo for the break in.
I have a bunch of Winchester USA 55 gr FMJ rounds that I could waste since break in is just a final polishing of the barel.

Shooting a new barrel is more about cleaning and taking your time. On a stock barrel it should help the accuracy to break it in right. Good Luck

It won't hurt the barrel....just do the cleaning routine that you chose and I often use the break-in loads to fireform brass at the same time and if you are going to use the brass then you can pull the bullets out to "touch" and shoot the FMJ and fireform all at once.....enjoy and good luck and good shooting!!
