i'd call federal aand see when they ran it..and if they are going to do another run. I bought 100 rd of remington loaded with the 122 gr bullet. pulled the bullets dumped the powder and loaded my own load. Anything worth doing is worth doing right the first time.

If they don't have any your best bet might be to go with nickel 7mm Rem brass. Pain in the butt with having to size them, fire form them, and then turn them. I know a guy who gets all his 257 wby brass that way. Nickel brass is a pain anyways, flakes off and screws up your dies. They sure do look cool though. I reload my Nosler CT ballistic silvertips in 270 wsm with them. "I would rather have a German division in front of me than a French one behind me." -- General George S. Patton

Be VERY careful using established loads from a 257 Wby with 7mm Rem brass. Internal capacities are greatly different and will cause high pressure. Resized 7Mag brass works but needs its own load development. 7Mag brass is also .049" short. Makes for a very short neck. I agree with 30378 on the matter of using 7mmRM brass. I had plenty of used 7mm RM brass and found that I trimmed most to about 2.485, which is .075 short of the nominal length of 2.560. I didn't want the short neck, as I was going to be using long bullets, (Wildcat 156 ULD is 1.550)so I purchased some Rem 300 WM brass, then necked down, trimmed to length, neck turned to get proper clearance, then annealed. The 300WM brass has 2.0 -2.5 grains less capacity than the Norma 257W brass, but due to being stronger, I am using 1.0 grain less powder at maximum pressure, and getting about 75 fps more velocity. There may be some light at the end of the tunnel for cheaper 257W brass, as I saw on another gun forum that in 2008, Remington are chambering several of their rifles in 257W.
