I am planning to build a suppressor for my Browning ATD .22LR And I want it as small as possible. What would you say is the minimum measurements? And how big shall I make the exit hole. Do you think it will do the job if it’s just as small as the barrel or just above and 3â€long. Of course I am going to have a license for the suppressor. Or who makes the smallest suppressor for 22lr? /Johan

the size of the hole will be determined by how accurately you can build it! the size of the body will dictate how well it works. the bigger the internal capacity, the better it will work. some of the comercial ones are too small in my opinion, the best one i"ve ever seen was about a foot long, and 2" in diameter! it was built from steel tube, washers, wooden spacers, and held together with grip-fill adhesive(the construction stuff that comes in tubes like silicone sealant) the smallest and most liteweight commercial one is probably made by SAK. i think they"re graphite or something. good luck and good shooting!

375HH, I know that you have some problem with French people, but they have a lot of suppressors, because the use is boosted. You cant ry ti contact some French shooter in European hunts forum. Il try to find the photos that I have done in France and tha paper with the measures. How do you think to fix it on the barrel? bye Stefano Waidmannsheil

I use RWS 22lr HP subsonic. From a rifle it's very quiet.Do you want it quieter than that ?If so you'd have to use subsonic ammo anyway.

I have sound moderators on all my rifles, i use the SAK on my finnfire varmint in .22 lr using subsonic ammunition and it is virtually silent, the only noise you get is a big thwack when the round hits the target. If you want to know the exact dimensions let me know and I will photograph it and measure it for you to copy. I also use this moderator on my 17Hmr and it works well but clearly you still get the supersonic crack from the bullet but much less muzzle noise. Let me know what you need to know! Bear in mind that the sak has clever internal baffles which aren't made from washers and springs, I will send you a photo as it is too hard to describe.

There is a Finnish company that makes a good reflex suppressor-I think that's what it's called too. We have to keep quiet about those things in the US. It was because poachers were using them in the Great Depression and the State Wildlife people got the Feds to outlaw (restrict) them. Anything Worth Doing Is Worth Overdoing.
