I really had my heart set on shooting these SEMissouri deer with this bullet. I've had exceptional luck with the BT's and V-Max bullets for coyote loads, but can't get the Partitions to group. Tried IMR 4350, 4831, and Re19, various seating depths, etc. Does anyone have a secret recipe for this bullet, or is it just not as accruate as the Ballistic Tips?
I have had the same luck useing partions in a 250 savage they just wouldn't group as tight as the others. put they would keep it isside of 2 ins ok for woods deer out to 300 but if I knew longer shots were coming I would want something the shot better.

I have not tried the partitions but I have tried the 100gr Hornady interlocks grouped as well if not better than the 100gr nosler BT.Best results were with imr 4350 with interlock and rl22 with BT

I have never had a rifle shoot partitions as well as some other bullets, but when it came to hunting, they always seem to hit what I am shooting at, and in the general vicinity of where I wanted to hit. Have you tried them at various ranges, or just 100 yards? My 300 mag will vary from .5 to 1.5 at 100, around 2" at 200, and yet is consistantly around 3-4" at 400 yards.
I found that the Nosler BT 120 were doing about 2inches, while my Sierra 117 softpoints will shoot about 7/8inch. This is based on only limited testing those are the results so far. Also found that the WW 25-06 brass is giving me better results that converted 30-06 RP brass.
I had the same problem with my Sendaro in 25-06.............So I decided to try the ballistic tips in 100grain.
We have a liberal doe harvest (Alabama) A W E S O M E on a double lung shot. Try it, you will be impressed. I'v been using the Sendaro for 3 seasons with the 100 grain B.T. and the rifles record is 38 kills for 40 shots. That includes 1 mystery miss (my fault) and one deer got 2 bullets, though it was not needed. Shortest shot 18 yards, longest 345yards. Zero bullet failures.
I just wish my new 300 mag would drop deer in their tracks like the 25-06.
Good luck, JB
PS, I have heard the smaller weight is even more impressive on deer, but is sounds too light for me.
dbl, bbl, I couldn't get my .25-06 to shoot partitions under 2" with 6 different powders. Gave up and loaded some more 100gr NBTs with 56gr IMR4831. Sub 1/2" 3 shot groups. Double lung hits are impressive. Like an old boy told me years ago - "kills like chain lightnin'".
I have had similar results with other rifles when comparing the partition and ballistic tips. I'm shooting a .257AI and the partitions are still M.O.D. (minute of deer)
I have had good results with the 100 gr. partition and 56.5 gr. H-4831, R-P brass, and Fed. 215 primers. They group about 1" at 100 yards from my Rem. 700 Classic. The load I like best is the 115 gr. partition with 54.5 gr. IMR-7828, R-P brass, and Fed. 215 primer. It averages just under 3,100 fps and shoots about 3/4" groups. It works great on deer and antelope, and has also made 2 one-shot kills on elk, although I feel it is a little light for critters that large.
