The 257 Weatherby is my favorite deer caliber. Out of all the deer I've shot with everything from the 375 H&H on down, nothing puts them down faster than a 100gr 257 WBY to the shoulder. I've used the factory 117gr RN with great success, but the detractor there is poor ballistic coeffcient. I also reload, matching factory specs. In my view, the most lethal is the plain ol' 100gr factory load with Hornady interlocks. It does goon up the shoulder pretty bad though, so you meat hunters out there might consider that sacrilege, but like I stated previously, the effect on deer is phenomenal. Not one, in over 50 deer has ever taken a step. jorge
