What do you guys think of this gun? Is it accurate? I want one in a 22-250. So which would you go with ruger, remington, or winchester? Thanks for any advice.

I believe it's a push feed rifle. (Not that tere's anything wrong with that). for varminting duties, I think I would lean more towards the Rem 700. Easier to accirize and lot's more accessories available. - Dan

I liked the concept of a medium weight weight varmint rifle when I first heard about the Coyote . A good stiff barrel yet not needing wheels like the Remington and Savage varmint guns. Unfortunately , with the bulky laminated stock , the Coyotes I have handled seem just as heavy as any of the other factory varmint rifles .

My buddy just bought one and if anyone knows how to make them shoot and feed from the magazine please let me know. He is getting 5 shot 2" groups (4 of the 5) with one shot about 4" out from that group. Also if he loads 4 or 5 rounds in the magazine they will not feed, 1 to 3 works ok.

Sure is a nice looking rifle though.

Thanks

I ordered a Coyote knowing it would be a push-feed.
The metal work was extremely rough, stock was lump-ish, bolt stop was so warped that you would jerk the bolt clear out of the action sometimes.(Had to anneal the part, straighten it out and re-harden it to get it to work right.)
The only good thing about the rifle was the M-70 trigger.
If you are used to pre-64 M-70's, you will be sorely dissappointed with the mangy "coyote".

You could get a much nicer rifle from CZ, Kimber, Mini-Mauser, or Ruger in my opinion.

Got one in a .243 win. Other that the bulky stock, it's a fine shooting rifle. The first factory ammo I tried was Hornady 58 gr. V- Max. It shot the first three into one ragged hole. I did however lap the barrel before taking it to the range. Other that that, no problems.

I thought the CONCEPT of a "coyote" rifle was one that was very lightweight, with the thinking that it would be carried much more than shot while afield. The semi-heavy barrel suprises me.
I'd prefer an ultra-lightweight rifle in a moderate but accurate cartridge.
Just my .02 cents.

I agree with you Varmint Hunter. I ordered the Coyote without ever handling it. Overall fit and finish was fine but I was not happy with the weight. I eneded up using the rifle primarily for a stationary groundhog rig. Someone could do much better getting their hands on a fast swinging sporter weight rifle for coyote hunting.
