gentlemen, as i work to pull this LH group buy for Zastava Mausers I was thinking how much I'd enjoy a 7x57. I hunted one for a while in a Ruger No 1 and loved it. Being a Mauser I'd like to eventually go whole hog and I'm thinking a classic setup with a LW 5130 profile barrel and Rechnagel furniture and a well proportioned stock. A Lothar Walther barrel will ruin a wet dream. Put a good one on and it sounds fantastic.

Can you please expound on this statement. I am just curious. I have a LW in 9.3x64 and it shoots factory RWS ammo consistently into 1-1.25" groups. I can't wait to start playing with handloads. I have a LW barrel in 404 Jeffery, and from the little shooting I have done with factory Hornady ammo, it is just fine also.

I have 1 good LW barrel on a .22-250 that shoots well. I had bad luck with 2 .264 barrels back to back that could not be made to shoot accurately. Poor customer service on top of that. I Love the cut rifling Brux Stainless barrels I own that are lasers.

Thanks for the explanation. I am not a good enough paper puncher to be able to discern the difference between rifling processes. I have read cut rifling is better. But that is all it is, reading someone else's opinion.
