If you were to purchase a new 17 Hornady Rimfire Mag, which rifle would you buy, the Ruger or Marlin?

my tastes lean towards a ruger, but IMHO, marlin has the best price...

Of those currently available, I would pick the Ruger, but I'm waiting to see if T/C offers Contender barrels.

I have a question on the ammo. I noticed in the American Rifleman that Hornady got the primed cases from CCI. Does that mean that no one company is offering the ammo, like CCI? Are they going to make them, or are they now?

Remember the 5mm rimfire that Remington did....left a LOT of people hanging. I would wait until more get into the ammunition lineup to purchase one.

That's one of the main reasons I want to try it in a T/C barrel. If it goes the way of the 5mm, I can rechamber to one of the centerfire 17's.

Hornady is producing the ammo now! I have found it on dealers shelves, but the rifles are still as scarce as hen's teeth.

Has CZ said they will produce a 17 HMR? If so, which model? That's the brand I would look at if I were in the market.
