Any suggested loads for this? Would a max .250 Savage load of 760 with 87 gr Speers work? Thanks, John

I don't think testing out a new gun with max loads is ever a good idea. Start with some light ones to work up and form some cases while you are at it.

I have found when fire forming 250 A.I. brass that you should use a heavy bullet (Rem.100gr.) and a fast powder( H 322, H4895) at 5% reduced from max.. You also need to have the bullet into the lands.

I shoot a 87 grain bullet with a case full of 4831 and have no problems with fire forming for the .257 roberts Improved! With 4831 you can add about 6 grains more powder in the Improved case. Good Luck

When forming 250 A.I. brass you want the pressure to peak quickly to get a sharp shoulder & fully expanded case. This will be accomplished with a 100gr.bullet & 29gr.of H 322 or similar rifle powder (AA2015, IMR3031, VVN130). I believe the 250 Savage case does not have the capacity to use H 4831 & 87gr.bullets. I have found that slower rifle powders and light bullets tend to leave rounded shoulders when forming A.I. & T/CU brass. On the plus side Rem.100gr.PSPCL are an inexpensive bullet to use and youre only burning 29gr.of powder in that new barrel.
