Depends on the boltface but the 20 VarTarg and 20 PPC would be good choices.

Gotta be another vote for the 20 VarTarg. Exceptional cartridge. Von Gruff.

Have you considered the 20 Tactical? Use quality .223 brass.

Re-bore and chamber for 25ACP.

I just had a 20 vartarg made. Shoots exceptionally well, It will be a great PD gun and will take a few called coyotes with it. One word of caution, if you go with this cartridge and want a repeater, use the right action. I used a sako A1 and it feeds fine. I tried a 221 FB in a 223 Rem model 7, and I had a non repeater. I would use a sako small action, or a Rem that was dedigned for a 221 FB or a 17FB, There are more issues than bolt face size, if you want a repeater. I speak from expensive experience. Good luck. Fasteel, What will you be using the rifle for? I believe a 1-9 twist is fast for 20 cal, so I would think you would be using "heavy for caliber bullets". If going long range and you're thinking red mist you'll need velocity. A 20-250 would give you the velocity. I would think a 50 grainer in a vartarg would give you in the neigborhood of 3K fps. Trajectory will not be as flat as a 32 grainer. GWB

GWB Just a varmint shooting round. I have an older Sako Vixen in 223 I seldom shoot any more, sounds like this may make a good donor action for this new barrel. Thanks Greg
