| They made a run of M77's just a few years back, almost bought a stainless synthedic, not sure if they made others or not. The barrel was 24" on those which seemed a little short... |

| I haven't heard any rumors about this one yet, but Ruger has manufactured several different versions of the .264WM in recent years. One was the 50th Anniversary model, about 5 years ago, or so, which was a stainless with the boat paddle stock, and some scratchings on the floorplate which said 50th Anniversary. At the same time, there was also available a stainless synthetic with the newer type "full" stock, w/o scratching on the floorplate. There was also a laminated stock model even more recently. All were 24" barrels. Ruger, like Remington, seems to regularly produce limited runs of the .264WM. The Remingtons are usually 26" barrels, however. |

| I am looking at trying to find a darn Remington CDL or maybe get a 7mm Hawkeye and have someone rebarrel it to 264 WM. Any ideas on who to do the rebarreling work and how successful that might be...? Anyone done this recently..? Thanks in advance... |

| Any good gunsmith can do it. I had my Remington done by Hill Country Rifles in New Braunfels. It is a 26" Lilja #3 with a 1:9 twist and it does everything I can ask for.

| If you want a Remington look arounnd on GunBroker or GunsAmerica. They made a small run of 264 Wins in their 700 SPS stainless last year.

| If you are interested in a Remington 700 CDL, there might oughta still be some around of a special run made in 2007. There were both blued/fluted and stainless/fluted versions available. Check gunbroker or gunsamerica. |

| Thanks guys but having trouble thinking about a Remington as have always had Rugers or Winchesters and lately Kimbers...all mausers...also have heard so much bad about Remingtons poor quality control...mayhaps the best solution ios to just get a Hawkeye and send to Hill Country and have them switch barrels to 26in stainless 264 barrel... |

| Gila, I like the hawkeyes too, Seems to me you could save a good chunk of money by buying a used MK2. If your gonna rebarrel anyway. Only real difference is the trigger. And if you are gonna spend money might as well put the excelent timney in it ! ...tj3006

| Customarily put Timneys in all Mark 2s and jewel the bolt along with installing a Decelerator pad...but the Hawkeye stock is particularly appealing to me...so much so, I sold my model 70s and other Rugers and rebought 243, 270, 7mm, 300, 338, and 375 Ruger...and love them all the quality of wood is outstanding, the new trigger is acceptable, and the feel of the guns to me is fine just the way they are...but I want a 264 WinMag...so was told to get a 7mm RM and then have it rebarreled...if I bought used, then I would still have the rebarreling dilemma plus the old stock...and trigger to contend with...sooooo...seems to me getting the new Hawkeye and rebarrel is the way to go...unscrew one and screw on the new one...then my local gunsmith can bed the new one for me and I will be ready to go with my new stable of Hawkeyes...ready for almost anything in Norte America....thanks for the thoughts... |

| I have two of the Stainless Ruger 264s with the full stock. They are super accurate.I have shot 3/8" groups with 155 gr Lapula mega tip bullets. They are very short throated though.About the only bullet I can use if the 140 gr Remington or winchester.I have been deep seating the Lapulas but I am going to rethroat them. They are very fun to shoot. It has the same barrel contour as the 338 win mag.I really like the 264 win mag.I usually just neck down 7 mm rem mag brass to .264 win mag .I get the brass once fired for $8 a hundred so its super cheap to reload.I use H-870 which is no longer made but I bought two 8 pound kegs of it.My guns like the 155 gr lapula best its an awesome bullet. |

| Thanks much "dgr416" I just made an offer on gunsamerica for a Ruger 264...and hope I get it...as I do love Rugers...am going to ditch the stock and send the gun back to Ruger and tell them I damaged the stock and for them to put a Hawkeye stock on it...oh, and change out the trigger to an L-6 while its there...figured that was the better way to go...just not happy with Remington.. |
