Just put this little jigger together and very happy with the way it's turning out. It came with a synthetic stock but I managed to find a feather weight with a pretty decent stock on it so it followed me home.

Still a few bit's 'n pieces to do but will work fine on a hunt in a few weeks time.......

Looks real nice.

Still working up some loads for the 90gr Sierra Game King. Looking promising with the synthetic stock that was on it. Still some work to do but it will be sighted in well enough for my next feral hunt

I still have to fit some inletted s/s studs, 1 piece floorplate and grip cap that I was keeping for a custom stock. Looks like I will just stay with this as a double is in my sights

Nice gun, and a wonderful caliber, my all time favorite and I've shot deer and elk with it..I have a Savage 99G take down that shoots tiny grups with about any load. I also have a Ruger ultra light RL (cerca 1950) in 250-3000 with the small 2x7x28 Leupold Redfield on it,It has an 18 inch barrel and kicks out a 117 gr. bullet at just a tad over 2700 FPS with a specific load, and that is cooking...both shoot the 85 gr. GS customs into and inch and get a bit over 3000 FPS with my handloads. My powder of choice for the 250 is a toss up between CFE 223 and H-414, nothing else compares so far.

BTW, I have never seen a 250-3000 that wouldn't shoot small groups, not one..and I have shot and owned more than a lot of them in that caliber.

Ive never been big on SS and composite stocks but I have a Ruger 77 Hawkeye International. and its wood stock and ss metal looks real nice..Its a 7x57 and shoots real well, so its a keeper.

I didn't think that Ruger introduced their Model 77 until the late 1960s.

While you could have a 2-7x28 Leupold, I doubt that it is a Redfield. The Redfield 2-7 variables made under Leupold's ownership have 33mm objectives, the same diameter as most of the current production Leupold 2-7x scopes.

I picked up the 1st 250 Savage that arrived in our area in May of 1975 and put it to use on chucks and deer. I think it became a catalog caliber for the 77 in mid 1974.

As to the new out of the box Redfield, Its now made by Leupold, sold by Spts Whse, Cabellas, and others and its a 2x7x28 as far as I know, and comes with a range finder reticle or std. duplex..Its a low dollar scope at under $200. I bought it to test it and I really like it. Looks great on that small rifle.
