I have a rem 700 classic in 221 thats shoots 1/2 min with 50 gr v-max.

I have a bunch of 40 gr v=max that I want to try.

Does anyone have any experience with this bullet in the 221?

I have used both 40gr Vmax and the Sierra 40HP with great success. Till recently, AA1680 was my preferred powder, but LilGun looks extremely promising. AA2200 and RE7 have also worked for me, and others post good luck with 4227 and 4198.
3500+fps with a 40gr is a very potent combo!

My little TC carbine likes max load of RL-7 under a 40 v max. I have many confirmed prairie dog kills out to past 300 yds. with that combination....only ever shot them for group once and don't remember how they were but obviously they shot well.
