Of the three images above I have the Model 700 VSSF in the first edition in a 22-250. One of my shooting buddies has the VLS model in the same caliber and in a shooting contest my VSSF will outshoot his VLS by a whisper. He once had a VSSF just like mine and sold it/gave it to one of his kids and now bemoans the fact and wishes he had it back. The full length bedding block and the HS Precision stock of the VSSF, I think, make a lot of difference in the accuracy department. I heard on another forum that the VSSF is the beginning point of the 40X without the squareing and trueing and lapping that take the 40X further up the road in the accuracy quest. | |||
