OK everyone. If you had a .223 with a 1-14 twist, and only 70 grn VLD bullets to use, how many of you would use it to shoot a 1,000 yd match with it? Huh? well, how many?? Yup, this makes about as much sense as some of the other polls that are showing up lately.

I shoot the 68 grain Sierra matchkings out to 1,000 yards with my fast twist 22.250. They work great as long as the winds are calm. I was just being a smart-ass with the above post, but, curious, what twist do you use, have you tried the 75 grn or 80 grn bullets?

If I had a .223 with a 1:14 tube and all I had were 70's. I be crying. Then be trying to trade for some better bullets. What a NIGHTMARE!

Way too slow of twist for a .223 - you need to be looking 7 to 9 twist for those bullets.

There are 70s and there are 70s. Speer 70 gr heads do just fine in a 1:14 .22-250. The few deer I killed with that bullet didn't complain. Then, the longest was 250 yds......a long way from 1000 yds. Sam

Guys, guys, I posted this just as something as silly as some of the other topics on the .223 have been. It was never ment to be anything but a smart-ass quip.
