I shoot a 260 REM and a 264 WM. 100 grs in the 260 anything smaller than mule deer. In the 264 go shoot Praire goats. (or send some to me) SSR

The .264 is only .007 larger in diameter than the .257. If you can adequately use a cup and core at 100 grains in the Roberts at 3100 fps on mule deer. The 100 grain partition in the .260 at 3100 fps. should work just fine on Mule deer. A racking shot in either cartridge ,however, may not be the best. roger Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! Some never pay and some pay and never reap the reward. Wisdom comes with age! I've used them in my 260s for Deer.. would easily use for antelope... I run them at 3350 fps in a 22 inch barrel, and higher in a longer barrel.. you wouldn't be undergunned going after a cow elk with one..

If I were you I'd pass them on to someone else. They are absolutely un-useable for any reason. I'll gladly take them off your hands for proper disposal.

A buddy and I each have a wildcat 6.5WSM. We do use the 100gr partitions for antelope and had great success with them. .395 Family Member DRSS, po' boy member Political correctness is nothing but liberal enforced censorship

I totally agree with seafire. I have shot deer weighing 200# plus with them and they always performed admirably. Perfect for the 260. Larry "Peace is that brief glorious moment in history, when everybody stands around reloading" -- Thomas Jefferson

I'd shoot deer and antelope with them all day longs. I feel better with something bigger for elk.

I use 100 grain in .243 and shot placement is the key. Put them in right spot and job is done, well ok, the job begins. If it's a shot you shouldn't take--shouldn't take it with a big boomer either.

They are awesome deer bullets. Have used them in 260 and 264WM and they are PFM. They have also proven to be quite accurate in the few rifles I have used them in (all 9 twist).

No one said anything about a big boomer. Nosler also makes a 140gr Partition in 6.5mm that would be much more appropriate for Elk. Not that I believe it would ever be an issue. Something tell me Alan has a real Elk rifle hiding someplace.

AS is correct. Besides several 6.5's in various flavors shooting 130-140's, I've still got my trusty old 30-06AI from the early 80's, my Pre 64 M70 in 9.3x62 and heck, my NMBH in 45 Colt. Oh, yeah, and my custom Pre 64 M70 in 257 Rob Alan

I shoot the 6.5-06, with a Sierra 120 Grain. I would not hesitate to use the 100 grain partitions on deer sized game. As a matter of fact, I shot an antelope in wyoming with the 6,5, and I felt the 120 grain bullet was more than necessary. As to 100 partitions on elk,I have shot a good number of elk, with various cals and rifles, and if the shot presented itself and it was my usual 100yd or less distance, I'd pop the elk with one, right now. I shoot a 6.5x284 and have taken antelope with the 90 grain and 120 grain bullets and deer with the 120 grainers. I would use the 100 grain Partition for anything deer sized and smaller. While I prefer the 120s I wouldn't hesitate to shoot anything up to 400 pounds with them. I'd leave it home for elk and similar sized hunting. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery."
