just got it broke in and went to the range. i have shot the 17-223 for almost 45 years so was quite familia with what works and what doesn't. after taking into consideration the lower pressure limits of a gas gun (52-54,000 psi) i went to work. here is what i came up with 25 gr vmax and 25 gr Hornady hp both shot well. the edge went to the Hornady hollow points (now discontinued) which i have a good supply. i have attached a couple pic's of groups i shot this morning, 85 degrees and a 5-10 mph breeze directly in my face. all groups were shot at 100 meters. the largest group was 1.05" and the smallest was .50. both loads were chrono graphed at low 3800 fps as shown on target. it likes h38o and h414.

time to shoot

the barrel is the 18" version.

Interesting cartridge. I hadn’t heard of it. Those are certainly decent enough groups!
