| Savage won't reveal how one disassembles the bolt for liability reasons! Thanks, but I've already been there and tried that. Kudude |

| Mike,
I tried the link and hooter.com as well w/o finding any information on bolts, although the hooters sight slowed down my searching a bit. Did all the address come thru?? Kudude |

There is the problem. It is "Savage Shooters," not "Savages' Hooters." Of course, I did see an educational website, complete with pictures, based on the second theme.

| I attempted to do exactly what is described in the article referenced above. The base of the hex nut is apparently a "gun lock" on some Savage/Stevens rifles. I did not get a key for such a lock, and assume that my rifle is without this feature. However, the hex wrench does not want to turn with what I would call a reasonable amount of force. Hence my question. |

| www.savageshooters.com is not Savage Arms. Go to the link in bja105's post; Although why you need to take the bolt apart to dress the ejection port, which is in the action, I don't know. Use an unreasonable amount of force.
